When I've gone lower to 2 CPUs and 2GB of Memory, Docker would regularly run out of memory and crash. Looking at the Activity Monitor, for the entire system, it generally hovers around 7/8GB memory used in total and a little over 4GB of swap overall used. In addition, I changed the File Sharing to just have my dev directory listed. I enabled VirtioFS under the experimental features on and off to still not have any success. When I go between editing in VSCode to reloading the app on Chrome, both apps freeze up so much that the entire system stalls.Ĭurrently, I enabled the resources to be at 4 CPUs, 4GB of Memory, 1GB of Swap, and ~50GB of disk image size. Within Docker, I have 3 containers all running - my React app, a Node JS server, and Postgres.ĭocker has been eating up the memory so much that my other apps have become unusable. I generally run VSCode, Chrome (with up to 15 tabs at a time), and Docker concurrently. I'm using Docker 4.8.2 which should be the latest version at the time of this post. I have a MacBook Pro 13-inch M1, 2020 with 8GB of RAM running Monterey 12.3.1. ![]()
